Laboratory Medical Director of Cellular Therapies
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (USA).
The person in this position serves as Medical Director of the Clinical Cell Processing Laboratory (CCPL), Associate Director of the Therapeutic Cell Production Core (TCPC), and Assistant Director of Transfusion Services summarized as follows. This position will have cross-functional reporting, primarily reporting to the Chief of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine with dotted-line reporting to SVP & Chief Research Operations Officer.
The CCPL is a clinical cell therapy lab supporting Seattle Children's Hospital cellular products pipeline and the CCPL Medical Director is responsible for supporting the development of standard practices and FACT accreditation and ensuring medical safety and regulatory compliance of the CCPL. The CCPL Medical Director will be responsible for working with clinical and research teams to maximize impact and safety, oversee clinical operational aspects of the CCPL and serve as the Processing Facility Medical Director for CCPL FACT accreditation and as needed, as the Processing Facility Director.
As the Assistant Director of Transfusion Services at Seattle Children's Hospital, this person will also provide clinical cross on-call coverage for Transfusion Medicine services (approx. 1 week on-call per month) and participate in hospital transfusion medicine clinical support.
Required Education and Experience
MD/DO Degree.
Board certification in Clinical Pathology.
Board certification in Transfusion Medicine.
Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges at Seattle Children’s.
Faculty appointment at the University of Washington.

Assistant Professor WOT - UW DLMP Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathology

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Washington, seeks an Anatomic Pathologist to join our GI Pathology subspecialty services as an Assistant Professor WOT (without tenure), due to reasons of funding, on the clinician-educator pathway. The primary clinical service responsibility will be case sign-out in the GI pathology diagnostic services as well as the associated teaching of medical students, post-sophomore fellows, residents, and fellows. UW AP faculty on this service also participate in intraoperative consultation service/on-call rotations. The successful candidate is expected to interact and foster relationships with clinicians and participate in some interdisciplinary conferences associated with these services. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct collaborative research in GI pathology or associated areas. Positive factors for consideration include completion of GI Pathology Fellowship with interest in participating in other subspecialty services.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor range: $19,921 to $24,288 per month ($239,048 to $291,451 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Pediatric Pathologist
Seattle Children’s Hospital

Our cohesive group of nine anatomic pathologists is recruiting a board certified/eligible pediatric pathologist to immediately join our team to care for children in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The Seattle Children’s Department of Laboratories has a decades long tradition of providing patient-focused services and engaging in collaborative research and training of house staff and medical students. Candidates must possess an M.D. or equivalent degree and qualify for licensure in Washington and a faculty appointment at the University of Washington. The individual will join an interactive and collegial group that is closely linked to our full-service clinical laboratory overseen by 16 additional M.D. and Ph.D-trained faculty directors working with 200 technical staff who collectively perform over three million clinical laboratory tests annually, including molecular microbiology, NGS, flow cytometry and biochemical genetics.
We serve the greater Seattle region and cover a referral base that includes Washington, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. There is a growing fetal medicine program including treatment of twin-twin transfusion syndrome, and fetal surgical procedures are performed in partnership with the University of Washington. Seattle Children’s is licensed for 407 beds and provides service for numerous subspecialty programs, including oncology, gastroenterology and transplant services. There are approximately 10,000 accessions annually including: 7,000 surgical specimens, 2,000 cytology specimens, 700 bone marrow samples, 750 placental/perinatal specimens, and 120 autopsies per year including referral fetal/perinatal cases. Our faculty are also jointly appointed within the University of Washington Dept. of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
