- Arteriovenous malformation is rare
- Dieulafoy lesion
- Usually single, submucosal, high on lesser curvature (Am J Surg Pathol 1982;6:83)
- Complications: perforation, hemorrhage
Terminology
- Dieulafoy lesion is also called caliber persistent artery, Dieulafoy disease

- 74 year old man with amyloid deposition in a gastric arteriovenous malformation (Arch Pathol Lab Med 1986;110:69)
Microscopic (histologic) description
- Dieulafoy lesion
- Large tortuous vessel with small defect in overlying mucosa
- May have amyloid (Ann Pathol 2004;24:256)
