Definition / general
Epidemiology
  • ~1% of testicular tumors in all age groups
  • Occurs in children (~15% of cases) and middle aged adults; 10% are malignant in both groups
  • Can occur as part of androgen insensitivity syndrome, Carneys complex and Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (Am J Surg Pathol 1995;19:50)
Clinical features
  • Testicular mass in normally descended testis
  • Feminization and gynecomastia in ~25 - 30% of cases

  • Orchidectomy is treatment of choice
