Definition / general
  • Rare infiltrating astrocytomas
  • Usually WHO grade II or III
  • Characterized by focal, sharply outlined, round to oval islands composed of delicate, neuropil-like and synaptophysin+ matrix
  • Prognosis: similar to infiltrating astrocytoma of corresponding grade
