Advanced brightfield microscopy and telepathology imaging instruments.

General Description
=========================================================================

Mikroscan is based in Carlsbad, California and manufactures advanced brightfield microscopy solutions for use in real time telemicroscopy and telepathology applications.

Our solutions serve a variety of applications in anatomic/surgical pathology, veterinary pathology, teaching and research settings. In the clinic, hospital groups looking to improve efficiency through remote evaluation of frozen sections and fine needle aspirations make use of our system. We have additional solutions that take the place of multi-head microscopes used to train pathology residents and medical students, and permit researchers to collect images, store them and share them for later analysis.

We have a dedicated sales team representing our products throughout the United States, and a seasoned group of developers and support staff in-house to create, deploy, manage and maintain our products.

Technical features/Products Overview
=========================================================================

D2™ Advanced Brightfield Microscope
Evaluate large format pathology images from remote locations and in real time; users can also collect and store images for later sharing or evaluation. Five position turret configures to hold 2X, 4X, 10X, 20X and 40X objectives. System holds two 1 x 3 slides or one 2 x 3 slide. Scan time for a 15mm2 area at 20X magnification is 2.5 minutes.

Live-Q™ Real Time Microscopy Software
Share and interact with images in real time. Remotely control a microscope; focus, pan, change magnification and interact with specimens. Highlight and store regions of interest for further inspection and inclusion into reports. Frozen section and fine needle consultation, as well as teaching, are common applications.

Q-Skan™ Large Format Image Collection Software
Tile large image sets and store them for future use/inspection. Q-Skan™ will identify and outline regions of interest on a slide and permit you to capture multiple regions from the same slide. Embedded autofocus routines ensure image clarity across the entire scanned area. Images can be stored in numerous common file formats like JPEG and TIFF, as well as proprietary formats like SWS and SVS. Q-Skan is commonly used for teaching applications and drug development applications.

Qumulus™ Image Viewer
Qumulus is Mikroscan’s whole slide viewer and is available in both local and cloud versions. Practitioners can retrieve and view images collected with the D2, as well as other common file formats stored in formats like JPEG, TIFF, SVS and SWS. Qumulus easily integrates existing pathology workflows and contains additional functions like annotation, feature identification and tissue microdissection.
